Look for the FCC to take its online databases down from SEPTEMBER 2nd through the LABOR DAY weekend for upgrades. The work will make the electronic filing system and dockets inaccessible from 6p (ET) on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd through 8a (ET) on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th. The Network Outage Reporting System (NORS), the Consumer Help Center (CHC), and the Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) will remain online. The Commission will remain open for business, although voicemail will not work and email will not be available for most FCC staff.
Due dates for responsive pleadings will be extended by the number of days the database is down. Due dates for pleadings due during the outage will now be due on SEPTEMBER 9th. Statutory deadlines cannot be extended, but since the Commission will be deemed closed for filing purposes, filings with statutory deadlines falling during the outage will be due upon restoration of online operations, SEPTEMBER 8th. All STAs that expire during the outage will be extended through SEPTEMBER 9th. No paper filings will be accepted during the outage.
