TIMES & NEWS PUBLISHING Country WGTY (GREAT COUNTRY 107.7)/YORK, PA afternoon personality PAESAN PELLEGRINI has announced his retirement; his last air shift will be TODAY (8/28). PAESAN has been with WGTY since 1989, first as morning show host, then adding PD stripes in 1991. In 2004, PAESAN stepped away from his duties as PD and transitioned to the afternoon slot, where he has remained. No word so far on his successor.
"It is with mixed emotions that TODAY (8/28), we announce the retirement of our beloved afternoon personality, PAESAN PELLEGRINI," explained WGTY's FACEBOOK page. "His dedication, work ethic, and drive helped to lay the foundation of what we've become now. Though we'll miss him, we're happy that after almost 40 years in radio and 26 of them at WGTY, he'll get a much deserved break." Leave your congratulations and retirement well-wishes for PAESAN on his FACEBOOK page here.
Back at 'GTY, PD SCOTT DONATO tells ALL ACCESS that a lineup shift will occur. Effective MONDAY, AUGUST 31st, CHASE MATTHEWS shifts from middays to afternoons. Night guy DAN DOUGLAS will move to middays, and weekend personality MAX STEVENS will take the night slot. "While losing PAESAN is a huge hole to fill, we feel like we’ve already got the necessary parts in-house to take us into the next phase of WGTY," DONATO told ALL ACCESS. "We look forward to the next chapter!"
