Regent Completes Peoria Deals; Moves WIXO Up Dial

REGENT has closed on the previously reported (NET NEWS 5/11) $12.5 million acquisition of Hot AC WXMP (MIX 105.7) and Top 40-Rhythmic WZPW (POWER 92) from AAA ENTERTAINMENT and the $2.8 million sale of Active Rock WIXO (99X), Contemporary Christian WPIA and Religion WVEL-F to INDEPENDENCE MEDIA PARTNERS.

However, REGENT is keeping WIXO's Active Rock format and call letters and moving them to WXMP's 105.7 frequency, effectively boosting WIXO's power from 1,250 watts to 33kw. In addition, WVEL-F will cease its simulcast of REGENT's Religion WVEL-A.
