iHEARTMEDIA Sports KVET-A (AM 1300 THE ZONE)/AUSTIN will serve as flagship for TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY sports under a deal with rights holder LEARFIELD SPORTS' TEXAS STATE SPORTS PROPERTIES. THE ZONE will air all TEXAS STATE football and men’s basketball games during each of the next two seasons.

“This gets two recognizable names together to sell TEXAS STATE UNIV.,” said TEXAS STATE Athletics Dir. LARRY TEIS. “Having TEXAS STATE in the AUSTIN market on a recognized sports talk station is great not only for the Athletics Department, but for the University as well. This is an example of the types of win-win partnerships that we hoped to create when we moved to the FBS.”

iHEARTMEDIA AUSTIN SVP/Programming PATRICK DAVIS added, “We couldn't be happier about teaming up with TEXAS STATE. With a football team that was bowl eligible last season and an up and coming basketball program, the future is very bright for the BOBCATS and we're excited to go on the ride with them."
