Report: Chris Satullo Exits WHYY/Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE is reporting that WHYY INC. News-Talk WHYY-F/PHILADELPHIA VP/News and Civic Dialogue CHRIS SATULLO is exiting the NPR affiliate after FRIDAY, with the official termination date of SEPTEMBER 11th.

The departure of the former PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER columnist and editorial page editor was not expected. A memo to staff from Pres./CEO BILL MARRAZZO says that SATULLO "has decided to move on from WHYY to other activities" and praises SATULLO's tenure, noting the development of the NEWSWORKS digital news site and several partnerships, but the magazine reports that SATULLO told staffers on THURSDAY afternoon that he could not comment due to legal reasons, but added, "No, I do not know what I'm going to do next."
