ALPHA MEDIA News-Talk WMBD-A-W262BY/PEORIA and BRADLEY UNIVERSITY have extended their deal for men's basketball broadcasts under a deal between the station and rights holder LEARFIELD SPORTS' BRADLEY SPORTS PROPERTIES. The extension is for four years and includes women's basketball airing on sister Oldies WIRL-A-W274BM (GOOD TIME OLDIES 1290 AND 102.7). DAVE SNELL will continue for his 37th season as the radio voice of BRAVES men's basketball, with CHAD KLEINE returning as analyst; ED HAMMOND will return for his 14th season calling women's basketball. BRADLEY basketball first aired on WMBD in 1938, although other stations have carried games over the years as well.
“We’re very proud of that distinction, to be part of the longest-running relationship between a school and its radio partner,” said ALPHA SVP/Market Manager MIKE WILD. “Looking ahead, we’re inspired by the vision for BRADLEY Athletics under CHRIS REYNOLDS and the basketball programs under BRIAN WARDLE and MICHAEL BROOKS. We’re honored to play a part in BRADLEY’s new future.”
