Former CHICAGO PUBLIC MEDIA CEO/Pres. TOREY MALATIA has been named GM at RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC RADIO.
MALATIA, whose tenure in CHICAGO overseeing News-Talk WBEZ (1993-2013) included the creation of "THIS AMERICAN LIFE" with IRA GLASS and the launch of NPR staple "WAIT WAIT ... DON'T TELL ME," replaces JOE O'CONNOR, who left in JANUARY to move to CHARLOTTE as Pres./GM of UNIVERSITY RADIO FOUNDATION News-Talk WFAE. He previously served as a producer at WLS-A-F/CHICAGO and PD at UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON noncommercial KUOW/SEATTLE.
