The wrong-way drunk driver who crashed into and killed CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WSYR-A/SYRACUSE newsman BILL LEAF in JANUARY was sentenced to up to 12 years in prison TUESDAY (9/19). MATTHEW BENEDICT was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-81 in SYRACUSE on JANUARY 8 when he slammed into LEAF's car; BENEDICT, who had a prior DUI conviction, pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges in MARCH.
