SONOMA MEDIA VP/Programming & Operations JIM MURPHY shares with ALL ACCESS, "while the Valley Fire in LAKE COUNTY, CA -- less than an hour to the north grew to nearly 70,000 acres with only 30% containment as of WEDNESDAY -- 585 homes lost and nearly 20,000 people evacuated, the five-station AMATURO SONOMA MEDIA cluster in SANTA ROSA remained in information and fundraising mode."
MURPHY continued, "NEWS TALK 1350 and FM 103.5 KSRO swung into action early SUNDAY morning to provide hours of continuous coverage. BAY AREA news vet MELANIE MORGAN held down the anchor desk while reporter DANIEL TRUCIOS made his way to the RED CROSS shelter at the Napa County Fairgrounds, where evacuees were taken, to provide news coverage. MORGAN also did regular live cut-ins on Top 40 KHTH (HOT 101.7), Country KFGY (FROGGY 92.9), Hot AC KMHX (MIX 104.9) and Classic KVRV (ROCK 97.7).
SONOMA MEDIA's fund raising efforts raised over $18,000 for those impacted by the fires.
