Long-time radio personality and current midday host on LOCAL MEDIA SAN DIEGO Urban AC XHRM (MAGIC 92.5) XAVIER “THE X-MAN” SORIANO was honored by the SAN DIEGO CITY COUNCIL on WEDNESDAY (SEPTEMBER 16th) with the official proclamation of XAVIER THE X-MAN DAY.
SORIANO was presented with the award in a ceremony attended by SAN DIEGO MAYOR KEVIN FAULKNER, CITY COUNCIL members, co-workers and family, the same day as MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY.
SORIANO was nominated by the SAN DIEGO LATINO CITY EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION in recognition of his many efforts to improve the community.
SORIANO began his radio career on MAGIC 92.5 over 15 years ago in JANUARY 2000, and has been a mainstay on the station as a driving force behind dozens of toy and coat drives, school events, and charity car shows including the annual CRUISE FOR THE CAUSE, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the EMILIO NARES FOUNDATION to provide free medical transportation for children fighting cancer and other diseases.
“I'm so honored to have SEPTEMBER 16th proclaimed as my day by the CITY OF SAN DIEGO,” said SORIANO. “I couldn’t do it without the support of our listeners and community, thank you for listening to my radio show and supporting our efforts.”
Added station PD R DUB!: “I’m not sure I’ve ever worked with a talent so entrenched in our community — every day, in every way. Since day one in SAN DIEGO, he’s committed himself, his time and his talents to making this city a better place. His countless efforts continue to make a difference every day.”
