NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO's "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" welcome new hosts ARI SHAPIRO and KELLY McEVERS as hosts today. The appointments were first announced in JULY (NET NEWS 7/9)
SHAPIRO and McEVERS will anchor the afternoon program together from DC (starting at 4p (ET).
Look for KELLY to talk with SYLVIA POGGIOLO about the POPE's visit to CUBA, a report on THE BROAD, L.A.'s newest contemporary art museum, and a feature on Internet gambling. ARI talks with JAMIE SMITH HOPKINS of the CENTER FOR PUBLIC INTEGRITY about her story looking at a solvent found in common paint strippers that can trigger heart attacks and asphyxiation, causing rapid death and interviews musician JULIA HOLTER on her sophomore album, "Have You In My Wilderness."
ALL SONGS CONSIDERED listeners will get an extra dose of ARI, who will be the special guest DJ on this week’s episode of the podcast. Among the songs on his playlist: MELANIE's “Brand New Key," YO-YO MA/BOBBY McFERRIN's “Grace," THE PENNYWHISTLERS' “Shto Mi e Milo” and BILLY STEWART's “Summertime.”
Starting next week, "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" listeners will hear a rotating mix of the show’s now four regular anchors – ARI, ROBERT SIEGEL and AUDIE CORNISH in DC and KELLY McEVERS on the WEST COAST, starting the week of OCTOBER 5th.
