MEDTRONIC Chairman/CEO OMAR ISHRAK has been elected to the Board of Trustees of MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO.  ISHRAK's company recently rekindled the debate over corporate taxation after it moved its corporate headquarters from MINNESOTA, where it was founded in 1949, to DUBLIN, IRELAND for tax purposes after acquiring COVIDIEN, PLC in 2014.

“Throughout his career, OMAR has led organizations through complex changes, and he is highly respected by his colleagues and peers,” said MPR Board of Trustees Chair BRAD ANDERSON. “His experience leading MEDTRONIC and some of the world’s most innovative companies will be a valuable addition to the MPR Board.”
