MEDIATRACKS COMMUNICATIONS Production Director SEAN WALDRON has launched a blog, and in his first posting writes, "while radio is arguing about ratings and touting its reach in POWERPOINT presentations, APPLE MUSIC is inviting us all over to hang out with three of the biggest names in entertainment."
He continues, "SUNDAY night during the Emmys, I watched that APPLE MUSIC commercial where EMPIRE’s TARAJI P. HENSON, SCANDAL’s KERRY WASHINGTON and singer MARY J. BLIGE are hanging out, listening to their favorite old songs via APPLE’s new streaming service. WASHINGTON says, 'It’s like you have a boyfriend who makes you a mixtape, in your laptop.' Nobody puts together an ad better than APPLE. They simultaneously draw on our nostalgia, feed our celebrity frenzy, and dangle the shiny new technology in front of us -- all in 60 seconds, with barely a product name mentioned. It feels more like we’re watching an episode of a great show instead of being pitched on a pure play music service. But it made me think, why not radio?"
