JEREMIH performed tracks from his most recent DEF JAM album, "Late Nights," including his hit single, “Down On Me,” and a stripped-down acoustic piano performance of, “Birthday Sex,” live on the HONDA STATE at the iHEARTRADIO THEATER in LOS ANGELES.
Hosted by Urban AC KRRL-F (REAL 92.3)/L.A.'s BIG BOY, the event included an intimate Q&A discussing the new album. The event broadcast across iHEARTMEDIA hip-hop radio stations nationwide; streamed live for fans on the iHeartMedia radio station websites as well as iHeartRadio.com/HondaStage.
JEREMIH opened the show with "Planes," a song from "Late Nights," before being welcomed to L.A. by BIG BOY, who asked what it was like being on the FOREST HILLS DRIVE TOUR. "That was my first tour, as crazy as that might sounds," he revealed. "I was on LIL WAYNE’s tour about four-five years ago, but this was my first official tour.”
BIG BOY followed by asking why it took so long to create the new album, his his first in five years.
“It wasn’t me [that took so long], ya’ll think it was me!," he laughed. "No, honestly I’ve been doing a lot of work with people, doing a lot of collaborations. And over the last couple of years, I just wanted to make sure it was right. A lot of you don’t know this, but this is my last year with my label, my production company, my publishing company. So I just wanted to make sure I did it right.”While talking with BIG BOY about his initial hit single, “Birthday Sex,” JEREMIH began serenading a fan in the audience who was celebrating her birthday. “That [song] was my first joint. Shout out to every DJ and radio station that made the record what it was. It changed my life. Y'all changed my life..”
