The CHARLIE DANIELS co-founded JOURNEY HOME PROJECT has committed $50,000 to assist in equipping a new VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILY CENTER at MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY in MURFREESBORO, TN. The space is scheduled for a THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5th opening. All contribution money from the JOURNEY HOME PROJECT for this space comes from funds raised at the "40TH ANNIVERSARY VOLUNTEER JAM" (NET NEWS 8/13).
"We are anxious to see this center in action," said DANIELS, " a place where the many needs of our veterans can be dealt with by capable people who care." The center will have dedicated space for discussions and study session and will be staffed by fellow student veterans, who will also serve as peer advisors and sponsors.
Additionally, there will also be a conference room for video teleconferencing and employer job interviews, as well as VA health counselors in-house to help veteran students and their families cope with post-war traumas. For more information, visit the VETERANS AND FAMILIES CENTER at MTSU website.
