RHAPSODY launched KIDS, the first-ever streaming music experience for young people featuring a curated collection of popular kids' music from DISNEY, KIDZ BOP KIDS and NICKELODEON, among others. RHAPSODY KIDS is rolling out as a free update for the more than three million RHAPSODY and NAPSTER premier subscribers worldwide.
Parents can get started by accessing RHAPSODY KIDS directly from the app's main menu and then adding songs by handpicking any playlist, album or track from the full RHAPSODY catalog. These bookmarks are automatically downloaded for offline playback to help save parents' data plans and phone batteries. With simple navigation and an image-based catalog, kids can have fun, play and sing out loud as they explore fresh curated content and listen to top hits from CASPAR BABYPANTS, THE LAURIE BERNKER BAND, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, KIDZ BOP KIDS and classics from their favorite DISNEY movies.
"As the original streaming music service, we have a deep base of customers that have moved into a new chapter of their life and are hungry for a way to share music with their kids," said RHAPSODY CFO ETHAN RUDIN. "With RHAPSODY KIDS, we're excited for parents to share their love of music with their young kids in a fun, safe and controlled environment."
When in KIDS mode, access is limited to only specifically tailored editorial programming and the content that parents add. A parental verification step is included to make it more difficult for young kids to leave the experience without supervision.
LAURIE BERKNER, dubbed the "Queen of Children's Music," said: "Exposing children to music they love at an early age is so important for their happiness. Music is a universal experience that encourages children to sing, move their bodies, express themselves, and have fun! It's exciting to see Rhapsody create an experience made just for children."
RHAPSODY KIDS is available for ANDROID at no additional cost with a RHAPSODY or NAPSTER subscription and is coming soon to iOS apps.
