L.A. Phil Honors Andrew Hewitt, Bill Silva With Distinguished Service Honors

Noted concert promoters ANDREW HEWITT and BILL SILVA have received the LOS ANGELES PHILHARMONIC DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD recognizing their involvement, support ans service to the L.A. PHIL and its community. The annoucement was made by LA. PHIL Chair Of The Board Of Directors DIANE B. PAUL and PHILHARMONIC ASSOCIATION President/CEF DEBORAH BORDA.
HEWITT and SILVA received the award today at the L.A.PHIL's annual board meeting. Previous recipients of the award include former PHILHARMONIC Music Director ZUBIN MEHTA, philanthropist ELI BROAD, L.A. COUNTY Supervisor ZEV YAROSLAVSKY, civic leader ROSALIND WYMAN and composer/conductor JOHN ADAMS, among others.
In 1991, the partners formed ANDY HEWITT & BILL SILVA PRESENTS to produce pop and rock concerts at the HOLLYWOOD BOWL. 2015 marks the 25th year of their relationship with the iconic venue. Over this period, the pair have brought a wide range of talent to the BOWL, including: ELTON JOHN, THE ROLLING STONES, THE EAGLES, JAMES TAYLOR & CAROLE KING, PAUL McCARTNEY, ANDREA BOCELLI, CHER, LUCIANO PAVAROTTI, COLDPLAY, RADIOHED, ROGER WATERS, DVE MATTHEWS BAND and CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG, among many others. This award also acknowledges the significant contributions that HEWITT and SILVAhave made to support the LA PHIL and their dedication to its music education programs.
