PAUL SHAFFER was joined by THE KINKS' DAVE DAVIES yesterday (OCTOBER 1st) for an exclusive interview on his ENVISION NETWORKS-distributed DAY IN ROCK.
The feature aired on affiliate stations throughout the country and can be heard online here. An extended interview is available here.
In the chat, DAVE discussed the legendary track “You Really Got Me,” THE KINKS’ influence and his solo work, including recently released live album "Rippin' Up NEW YORK CITY - Live At The WINERY NYC," available now on AMAZON.COM.
“We had no idea. I think we thought it might last six months or a year,” DAVE said of the band’s musical longevity. He continued saying that the wealth of music he and his brother RAY grew up around played a role in that. “That’s why THE KINKS’ music lasted so long was because we had such a whirlpool of source material to draw from.”
DAVIES is the latest in a line of renowned guests to be featured on the former DAVID LETTERMAN band leader's show, alongside the likes of RINGO STARR, JIMMY PAGE, DEF LEPPARD's JOE ELLIOTT and GENESIS' TONY BANKS.
