ALL ACCESS congratulates CAPITOL’s DON HENLEY, for his #1 album sales debut on both the all-genre and Country album charts with “Cass County.” HENLEY’s first studio album in 15 years and his first album to be classified as Country, racked up 87,000 in pure album sales, according to NIELSEN MUSIC. But close behind, with 83,000 was Country music icon GEORGE STRAIT, whose “Cold Beer Conversation” on MCA NASHVILLE extended his record as the Country artist with the most top 10 albums on the charts. “Cold Beer Conversation” is STRAIT’s 20th album to do so, proving STRAIT is still worthy of his King-like status.
Also worth noting in a week of impressive Country album sales: VALORY MUSIC CO artist THOMAS RHETT, whose second full studio album, “Tangled Up” generated 63,000 in pure album sales in its debut week. The album was powered by RHETT’s #1 single, ”Crash And Burn” and his follow up, “Die A Happy Man.”
