A digital radio streaming station has launched to serve cancer survivors and their families and friends. SURVIVOR RADIO, created by MELODIE MILLS, wife of radio executive and survivor STEVE MILLS, and DICK STADLEN, includes upbeat music and personal stories about cancer, interviews, and information about advances in cancer research and treatment. The channel will also raise money for patients in need of help with medical bills and other necessities.
MELODIE MILLS said, “SURVIVOR RADIO has a story to share for every person that is going through cancer treatment, currently in remission, or has lost a loved one to cancer. People fighting this horrible disease need a resource that they can access when in need, such as help with a light bill, food, assistance with covering the cost of medicine, transportation to treatment, or even to help with covering a bucket list request in the event that a loved one is terminal. These are the things that we found were not readily available when my husband was fighting this disease. We would like to make sure we fill that void for anyone that needs it.”
STADLEN added, “I’m so grateful that STEVE is in remission. Over the past four years I’ve lost a family member and two close friends to cancer. Each loss has been gut wrenching. Our goal is to provide inspiration and support to those who’ve been through similar experiences.”
The channel is streaming at www.survivorradio.net and www.survivorradio.org and also offers an app in iOS and Android.
