In the midst of rumors regarding the future of CUMULUS' "NASH" branded properties (NET NEWS 10/8), the company has announced that fan engagement continues to grow for the "NASH NEXT CHALLENGE" talent competition. Launched in JUNE (NET NEWS 6/15), the "NASH NEXT CHALLENGE" is a social media-driven initiative seeking to discover and release music from up-and-coming Country artists.
To date, over 57,000 fans have registered, and registration continues to see steady growth. In the past three MONTHS, 241 million total social media impressions have been made, with 24 million people being reach by NASH NEXT on TWITTER and INSTAGRAM alone. The NASH NEXT website has seen more than 1.1 million visitors per month, with 70% of that traffic driven by social media and over 70% coming from mobile devices.
CUMULUS SVP/Content & Programming MIKE MCVAY has been appointed to the judging panel to replace former CUMULUS EVP/Content & Programming JOHN DICKEY. "This unprecedented level of engagement demonstrates Country music fans' continued dedication to the NASH brand as they help select the next generation of Country music superstars," said MCVAY. "I am honored to participate in this innovative new take on artist discovery and look forward to playing a role in other NASH events and initiatives as the popular brand continues to expand."
TODAY (10/12) marks the beginning of the fifth challenge in the "NASH NEXT CHALLENGE" series, wherein the 40 entrants who have been selected to advance in the competition begin the NEXT COVER CHALLENGE. The NASH NEXT grand prize winner will be signed to the NASH NEXT record label, and all of the top ten finalists will participate in a NASH NEXT concert tour next YEAR.
