Broadcasting Board Of Governors Names 2015 David Burke Awards Winners

The BROADCASTING BOARD OF GOVERNORS has announced the winners of its 2015 DAVID BURKE Distinguished Journalism Awards.
The winners included the VOICE OF AMERICA Hausa Service's IBRAHIM AHMED; the Office of CUBA Broadcasting's JOSE ALPIZAR; RADIO FREE ASIA Uyghur Service's SHOHRET HOSHUR; RASIO FREE EUROPE/RADIO LIBERTY AZERBAIJANI Service's BAKY Bureau; and the producers of the MIDDLE EAST BROADCASTING NETWORKS' "ALHURRA'S Delusional Paradise." The awards will be presented in WASHINGTON in DECEMBER.
Chairman JEFF SHELL said, "Our 2015 BURKE Award winners represent the best of U.S. international media. m nm, These brave men and women have tackled issues of critical importance in some of the most dangerous locations on earth."
CEO JOHN LANSING added, "Every day our journalists overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to bring exceptional reporting to audiences in media-restricted countries.
