New Podcast Section

TODAY (10/15), ALL ACCESS is debuting a new section devoted to the rapidly expanding world of podcasting. The ALL ACCESS Podcast section will feature two new regular columns:

* PERRY ON PODCASTING will offer tips and guidance for podcasters from PERRY MICHAEL SIMON, ALL ACCESS' News-Talk-Sports Editor, "THE LETTER" columnist, and Dir./Programming for the NERDIST PODCAST NETWORK. The column goes beyond the basic how-to stuff (though he’ll get to that, too) to focus on making any show better, based on SIMON's experience in both radio and podcasts -- he's heard it all, he's fixed it all, and he's here to help you (and answer your podcasting questions).  First up is an observation on something podcasters (and broadcasters) are prone to do that, well, you shouldn't.

* BROADCASTER MEETS PODCASTER will focus on the bridge between radio and podcasting, with JACOBS MEDIA's Digital Dot Connector and ALL ACCESS "NEXT STEPS" columnist SETH RESLER offering ideas and guidance for radio people looking to move into podcasting, or considering adding podcasts to their present duties. The debut column is a Q&A with LIBSYN's ROB WALCH, perhaps the leading expert on podcast statistics, explaining what you need to know about those download numbers.
