WLRN PUBLIC MEDIA, the MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC SCHOOLS public broadcasting division that operates NPR affiliate News-Talk WLRN-F and PBS affiliate WLRN-TV/MIAMI, is taking over programming W270AD/WEST PALM BEACH, the FM translator that brought NPR programming to the PALM BEACHES via an HD2 channel of WPBI/WEST PALM BEACH, reports the PALM BEACH POST.
The translator continued to carry NPR programming on a temporary basis as "WPBI NEWS" after CLASSICAL SOUTH FLORIDA sold WPBI to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION, which flipped the primary signal from Classical to Contemporary Christian as WFLV (K-LOVE). WLRN-produced programming will start on the FM translator as "101.9, NPR FOR THE PALM BEACHES" "sometime in NOVEMBER," according to the POST.
