Another member of the GRANTLAND staff has exited ESPN's boutique sports and pop culture website for new horizons, this time REMBERT BROWNE joining NEW YORK MAGAZINE as a writer-at-large.
BROWNE was one of BILL SIMMONS' star discoveries at GRANTLAND, covering pop culture and hosting the "REMBERT EXPLAINS" podcast (10 episodes released NOVEMBER 2014-MAY 2015). With SIMMONS' exit earlier this year (he more recently signed with HBO for TV and digital ventures), BROWNE joined the exodus from GRANTLAND to write for NEW YORK MAGAZINE's VULTURE, CUT, and DAILY INTELLIGENCER websites and the print magazine.
Editor-in-Chief ADAM MOSS said that BROWNE "is equally at home reporting from the front line in FERGUSON, questioning President OBAMA on Air Force One, or writing a meditation on NICKI MINAJ and pubescent boys. His voice moves easily from literary to loopy, driven always by his intelligence and unusually wide-ranging curiosity.”
