ALL ACCESS extends best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to MAX MEDIA Country WGH/NORFOLK, VA PD/afternoon personality MARK MCKAY, who will be away from work until at least MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9th following a surgical procedure which is part of his final treatment for cancer.

MCKAY wrote industry friends TODAY (10/23), “Seven months of poking, prodding, testing, needles, hospitalization, chemo, hair loss (and regrowth), fatigue, drama, radiation, unpredictable schedules, etc. should FINALLY be coming to an end — the tumor’s coming out on MONDAY (10/26) morning.”

MAX MEDIA/NORFOLK Dir./Programming JOHN SHOMBY will handle music and programming duties in MCKAY’S absence. MCKAY ADDED, “I’d like to thank you all for the understanding, patience, encouragement, and (most importantly) support since my diagnosis — it’s really meant a lot to me (and for those of you who know my wife, to CHRISTI as well) to know that I’m not just a name on your call sheet, a set of call letters, or simply a pile of spins to you. To say the least, it’s been a tough year, and we’re looking forward to putting it all behind us, and move on with our lives.”
