KARA BROWN has been named General Manager of TIMES-SHAMROCK COMMUNICATIONS' radio stations in RENO/SPARKS, NV by COO MITCH DOLAN.
In her new position, BROWN will assume full operating responsibility for all four of the company’s FM stations in the RENO market, replacing JOHN BURKAVAGE, who announced his retirement earlier this month (NET NEWS 10/16).
The four stations are Alternative KRZQ, Rock KZTI (Z105.3), Top 40 KWNZ (106.3 POP-FM) and News/Talk KNEZ (107.3 KNEWS).
BROWN has spent the majority of her 21-year broadcast career in RENO. Prior to joining TIMES-SHAMROCK’s RENO group in 2012 as Director of Sales, she held a similar position at WILKS BROADCASTING's RENO cluster.
Commented BROWN: “TIMES-SHAMROCK COMMUNICATIONS is the best company that I have ever worked with. I can’t say enough about the support of our owners, the LYNETT and HAGGERTY families and I’m excited about leading our RENO stations to new levels of success.”
BROWN began her career at CBS affiliate KPAX-TV in MISSOULA, MONTANA, following her 1995 graduation from UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA, where she earned a B.A. degree in Journalism.
The MONTANA native has two children and resides in the RENO area.
