While digital radio continues to struggle for acceptance in the U.S., the medium is quite popular across the pond. U.K.'s TELEGRAPH reports, "the proportion of audiences who listen to national radio stations via digital radio has passed 50% for the first time."
The paper notes data showing that 50.6%, "of all audience hours for national BBC and commercial stations came via the digital platform, with Radio 4 Extra setting a new audience record of 2.2 million listeners per week."
While digital is growing nationally, it's slower on a local level with a 42% share.
