STEVE DEACE, whose syndicated talk show recently moved to SALEM RADIO NETWORK, is the subject of a profile in this coming SUNDAY's NEW YORK TIMES MAGAZINE.
The piece, already posted online, focuses on DEACE's role as an important conservative voice in IOWA, where DEACE is based (pointing to the appearance of several G.O.P. candidates on a regular basis), and the phenomenon of conservative Republican radio talk show hosts like DEACE spending more time attacking more moderate Republicans than Democrats. The article also notes DEACE's changing views and a possible reason for it: "Like his peers, DEACE has nudged himself continuously to the right just to keep up with his audience. He once supported GEORGE W. BUSH’s plans for a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, before being persuaded otherwise by his listeners."
