THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS, AUTHORS, AND PUBLISHERS (ASCAP) acknowledged COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR (CRS)'s 45th anniversary at the "53RD ANNUAL ASCAP COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS" on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd. ASCAP Board Member BARRY COBURN presented CRS Executive Director BILL MAYNE, CRS Director Emeritus CHARLIE MONK, and former ASCAP executive JUDY HARRIS with the honor.
CRS was founded in 1969, and ASCAP hosted the first seven years of planning meetings. ASCAP continues to be an integral part of the yearly CRS meetings and host the popular ASCAP Songwriter Showcases during the event. CRS has since grown to become the world's largest radio conference as the number of Country stations has risen from less than 200 to more than 2,300 since the founding of CRS.
