Singer/songwriter COREY SMITH has launched a VETERANS DAY fundraising campaign utilizing his song, "My Time (In Memory Of Major GAUSE)," via PLEDGEMUSIC to benefit the WORLD WAR II FOUNDATION.
SMITH penned the tune in honor of a WWII hero from his hometown of JEFFERSON, GA and now plans to use proceeds from the sale of the song to assist the WORLD WAR II FOUNDATION with its mission of educating future generations about the enormous sacrifices and achievements of the 16 million AMERICANS who served in WWII by preserving the individual experiences of those who witnessed that most devastating conflict and pass on the lessons learned from WWII to a new generation.
"As a former Social Studies teacher and the grandson of a proud WWII veteran, I support the mission of the WORLD WAR II FOUNDATION wholeheartedly," said SMITH. "With so many members of what TOM BROKAW called our 'Greatest Generation' passing away every day, I believe preserving their stories of selfless service and sacrifice is of utmost importance." SMITH's song is also featured in a documentary film about Major GAUSE, which PBS-TV is scheduled to air in the SPRING of 2016. "My Time (In Memory Of Major GAUSE)" will be available via PLEDGEMUSIC for the remainder of the week, with varying incentives for additional, incremental donation levels.
