That's Voiceover! Conference Comes To L.A.

THE SOCIETY OF VOICE ARTS AND SCIENCES (SOVAS) will its THAT’S VOICEOVER! CONFERENCE to LOS ANGELES, this SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14th at the PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER.

The in-depth conference event covers everything that must be known for aspiring voice actors who want to enter the industry, or for voice actors already working in the industry seeking additional work to take their careers to the next level.

The conference kickoff panel discussion and workshop will be about the hit motion picture, "The Martian," with producer ADITYA SOOD, who helped bring the film version to fruition; ANDY WEIR, the author of the original book, and R.C. BRAY, the narrator of the audiobook. CANADIAN audiobook specialists, PODIUM PUBLISHERS' JAMES TONN and GREG LAWRENCE, who saw the book’s merit and created what is now the best-selling audiobook in history after print publishers turned the book author down, will also be on hand.

Other panelists include "Police Academy"'s MICHAEL WINSLOW (Evolution of Sounds and Wonders of the Human Voice) and PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS execs KEVIN REHER and NATALIE LYON (receiving the BACKSTAGE MAGAZINE VANGUARD AWARD FOR CASTING). There will also be a session, "Speed Dating With Casting Director," where you can get your Voiceover Demo Reel critiqued, a Skills Development workshop, along with book signings, autographs and a chance to network.
