NEDERLANDER CONCERTS is partnering with AUSTIN-based TAG PRESENTS LLC to create PARAGON PRESENTS, which will program and produce live events throughout the city and surrounding markets, including the newly developed SKYLINE THEATER at the LONG CENTER, the area's performing arts center.
NEDERLANDER CONCERTS CEO ALEX HODGES commented: “This partnership expands NEDERLANDER’s footprint nationally in one of the fastest growing cities in the country, sharing PAUL THORNTON’s vision enhancing AUSTIN’s music scene. We are committed to providing the best experience for the community and artists. PARAGON PRESENTS can produce top-notch live concert experiences as an independent, hands-on promoter, and we are excited to help debut the new SKYLINE THEATER at the LONG CENTER.”
TAG PRESENTS LLC Pres. PAUL THORNTON added: “ALEX and I have worked together for nearly 15 years and NEDERLANDER’s expertise in the music industry is the perfect match to bring live music back to its roots In connecting with the fans hearts, not connecting with their wallets. It is about the creativity, joy and connection fans feel. PARAGON PRESENTS’ mission is to bring back that independence and creativity that originally built the live music industry. I am thrilled that NEDERLANDER shares that vision and drive to book world-class entertainment in AUSTIN.”
The 7,000-capacity SKYLINE THEATER at the LONG CENTER is scheduled to open SPRING 2016.
Commented LONG CENTER President/CEO JAMIE GRANT: “The new venue will be a spectacular complement to DELL HALL, the indoor theater in addition to serving as the home for AUSTIN’s Ballet, Symphony and Opera. We’re quite confident that the theater will help us fund even more free outdoor community events and activities and continue to maximize the use of this iconic community gathering place.”
