MICK JAGGER? JACK NICHOLSON? JAMES TAYLOR? Well, if you had any of those names in the office pool over who CARLY SIMON was singing about in "You're So Vain," -- you were wrong. At least in the 2nd verse of the song.
Confirming years of speculation, SIMON has revealed the song is about WARREN BEATTY -- but only the second verse, where she sings, “You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive/Well you said that we made such a pretty pair/And that you would never leave...”.
As for verse one (the yacht guy) and three (the LEAR jet man)? SIMON isn’t revealing that yet.
SIMON is doing a press tour in support of a memoir, "Boys in the Trees," on sale NOV. 24th). Perhaps a second memoir will be needed to reveal the other two men.
