Condolences to family and friends of longtime WCCO-A/MINNEAPOLIS personality CHARLIE BOONE, who died SUNDAY at 88. He had been battling pulmonary fibrosis.
BOONE worked in COLORADO SPRINGS and FARGO before joining WCCO in 1959; after two years in afternoons, he was paired with middayer ROGER ERICKSON for a long-running morning show that began in 1961 and was a staple of TWIN CITIES radio through ERICKSON's 1998 retirement.
BOONE then hosted a solo show on SATURDAY mornings through DECEMBER 2010.
