SIRIUSXM RADIO's OPIE has been subjected to alleged harassment by a former producer, according to a report in the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS.
BEN SPARKS, who worked on the old "OPIE AND ANTHONY" show before being let go in 2006 shortly after an altercation with a HOWARD STERN fan on the daily O&A "walkover" between CBS RADIO and XM RADIO studios, was arraigned last MONDAY (11/16) in MANHATTAN Criminal Court and a protective order was issued against SPARKS in favor of OPIE (GREGG HUGHES) and his wife LYNSI. SPARKS, 40, allegedly sent several harassing text messages over the years and "more than just text messages," OPIE told the DAILY NEWS. Court papers quote one text from SPARKS as telling OPIE, "F-cking law-breaking piece of sh-t you are. Have fun. I got you." Another threatened a lawsuit after OPIE asked him to stop.
A hearing is scheduled for JANUARY 11th; SPARKS was released on his own recognizance at last week's arraignment.
