Concert discovery platform BANDSINTOWN has created a program that enables anyone in the U.S. to donate $10 by texting "PARIS" to the 20222 short code. In partnership with FONDATION DE FRANCE, the largest FRENCH charitable organization, 100% of the proceeds will support "GIVE FOR FRANCE," which offers educational programs and citizenship initiatives to the victims and their families.
BANDSINTOWN's two chief executives, FABRICE SERGENT and JULIEN MITELBERG, are both natives of FRANCE. THE EAGLES OF DEATH METAL use the BANDSINTOWN MANAGER platform to promote their shows, while PARIS' LE BATACLAN concert hall is owned by one of BANDSINTOWN's shareholders and one of the platform's own team members worked directly with one of the victims, merchandise handler NICK ALEXANDER on tour.
The below email was sent to BANDSINTOWN's artist and manager community. You can learn more about the program here.
HELP VICTIMS OF THE PARIS ATTACKS, DONATE $10 BY TEXT MESSAGE NOW
Our hearts are still broken by the PARIS attacks and will be for a long time to come. As a company within the music industry, we’re focusing our efforts on helping music fans, artists, and our friends in music who have been affected by these horrific attacks.
These terrorists set out with a goal to silence us. We will not let them. Instead, we will find ways to get directly involved in the fight against terrorism, and to help support victims.
We’ve teamed up with the MOBILE GIVING FOUNDATION and FONDATION DE FRANCE (the largest FRENCH charitable organization) to offer an easy way to donate money to those who need it, and you can donate too. 100% of the proceeds will be paid out to the charity.
