CBS RADIO Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA's annual "WING BOWL" has been set for FEBRUARY 5th at WELLS FARGO CENTER, home of the 76ERS and FLYERS, with tickets on sale TUESDAY (12/8).
The 24th annual celebration of gluttony and debauchery will be, as always, aired live on WIP and will benefit the PHILADELPHIA Fraternal Order of Police Survivor's Fund. This year's theme is "Game of Bones," and the prizes include cash, a car, and a motorcycle, with additional bonus cash for competitors who win and hit certain performance goals.
Last year's champion PATRICK BERTOLETTI and previous winner MOLLY SCHUYLER will be back to compete for this year's crown; newcomers attempting to qualify for the event have already begun their eating stunts on the morning show.
Morning co-host AL MORGANTI, who co-founded the event with co-host ANGELO CATALDI as something to do around SUPER BOWL time when the EAGLES fell short of the title game, said, "In a year where everything has seemed to go wrong with sports in PHILADELPHIA, it never goes wrong at WING BOWL! We win every year so if you’re disappointed with PHILADELPHIA’s sports teams, you won’t be disappointed with this year’s ‘Game of Bones’ – WING BOWL 24. We’re back to our roots this year. What a WING BOWL. Don't miss it."
