Sale Protested
About 40 students and listeners held a protest of the proposed sale of News-Talk-Jazz KPLU/TACOMA-SEATTLE by PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY to the UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON's News-Talk KUOW/SEATTLE. reports the TACOMA NEWS-TRIBUNE.
The 45-minute rally on THURSDAY (11/4) is the latest manifestation of opposition to the $8 million sale; the protest leader, KPLU intern ZOE VELIE, has also started an online petition to ask the FCC to block the sale, reaching the 500 supporter mark midday THURSDAY.
