CHRF/Montreal Drops LGBT 'Radio Fierté' Format, Stunts As 'Noël 980'

EVANOV COMMUNICATIONS has dropped the French-language LGBT format at CHRF-A (RADIO FIERTÉ)/MONTREAL after 10 months and is now stunting with CHRISTMAS music as "NOËL 980."

The station signed on the RADIO FIERTÉ format in FEBRUARY after test broadcasting since OCTOBER 2014.  The station was authorized by the CRTC in 2011 at 990 AM to replace Sports CKGM-A, which moved to 690 AM; it was reauthorized for 980 AM (CKGM's original frequency) in 2013.
