Digital jukebox TOUCHTUNES, which is in more than 71,000 restaurants and bars in the U.S. and EUROPE, released its annual year-end charts, based on music played on its digital jukeboxes and mobile app in 60,000 social venues in the U.S. This year, ERIC CHURCH was its Top Played Artist of the year.
“Music industry ‘experts’ have a multitude of metrics to tell you if a song is working or not, but there’s one way to truly know,” commented CHURCH. “If a person wants to hear your song on a jukebox while they’re kicking back at their favorite bar, you've got something.”
Other top played artists in 2015 included AC/DC, JASON ALDEAN, LUKE BRYAN, KID ROCK, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ROLLING STONES, JOHNNY CASH, GEORGE STRAIT, and GARTH BROOKS.
ED SHEERAN’s “Thinking Out Loud” took the title as TOUCHTUNES’ Top Played Song, atop a list which includes GARTH BROOKS' "Friends In Los Places," LITTLE BIG TOWN's "Girl Crush," STEVE EARLE’s “Copperhead Road,” ERIC CHURCH's "Like A Wrecking Ball," JASON ALDEAN's "Burnin' It Down," BRANTLEY GILBERT's "Bottoms Up," ERIC CHURCH's "Smoke a LIttle Smoke," QUEEN's "Fat Bottomed Girls" (the year's Top Played Rock Song), and MAROON 5’s “Sugar.”
While Country artists dominated the Charts, Rock music that reined supreme as the Top Played Genre of 2015. For the complete list, click here.
