JESSICA ROSENWORCEL has been confirmed by the Senate Commerce Committee for another term as a Commissioner at the FCC. The vote came this morning and moves ROSENWORCEL's nomination to the full Senate, where her reappointment is expected to be approved, although the normal procedure is to vote on partisan nominees in pairs and a corresponding Republican nominee for a partisan federal post, most likely at the FTC, has yet to be identified, making the timing of ROSENWORCEL's ultimate confirmation uncertain. She can serve pending the full Senate vote, however.
ROSENWORCEL rejoined the FCC as Commissioner in 2012 and served before that as Senior Communications Counsel to the Senate Commerce Committee. She worked at the FCC in 1999-2007 in the Wireline Competition Bureau and, later, for then-Commissioner MICHAEL COPPS.
