Songwriter Don Chapel Dies At 84

ALL ACCESS sends condolences to family and friends of NASHVILLE songwriter DON CHAPEL, who passed away on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6th. He was 84.

CHAPEL's songs were recorded by legendary Country artists including RAY PRICE, KITTY WELLS, JERRY LEE LEWIS, CHARLIE LOUVIN, CONWAY TWITTY, GEORGE JONES, and TAMMY WYNETTE, the latter of whom he was married to from 1967 to 1968. CHAPEL was a veteran of the KOREAN WAR and is survived by his wife VIRGINIA ELOISE AMBURGEY, six children, four step-children, and twelve grandchildren.

Public visitation will be FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11th at 5p (CT) with funeral services following at MADISON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for THE MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS FOUNDATION.
