WASHINGTON ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY Contemporary Christian-Religion WGTS-A/TAKOMA PARK, MD-WASHINGTON, DC hosted MICHAEL W. SMITH and AMY GRANT’s CHRISTMAS show for over 6,000 listeners from the DC area. The artists were backed by the FAIRFAX SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. WGTS 91.9 listeners stopped by the promotional tables and the station’s prayer booth by the hundreds to pick up small gifts and to ask for prayer.
WGTS also partnered with the Splendor Ministry to welcome 20 people who don’t have permanent homes who are living at THE LAMB CENTER in FAIRFAX, VA. Those residents got to go backstage to spend time with MICHAEL and AMY before the concert. WGTS provided goodie bags including Bibles, water bottles and devotional materials for each resident.
“We love any opportunity we get to hang out with our community," WGTS morning show host/Promotions Dir. JERRY WOODS said. "It doesn’t get any more incredible than a CHRISTMAS concert with AMY and MICHAEL. Being able to welcome the residents of the homeless shelter as VIPs made it just that much more special."
