CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK is kicking off a 6-week "Get Active Public Service Campaign" with MUSICIANS ON CALL and "RENT ON BROADWAY." Starting today, the station and its aforementioned partners are encouraging tri-state area teens to get their schools to donate as many full-length new or gently used CD’s towards MUSICIANS ON CALL’s "CD Pharmacies Program." The middle or high school that donates the largest number of CD’s wins a free, private performance at their school by the cast of "RENT ON BROADWAY."
All collected CD’s will go to MUSICIANS ON CALL, a non-profit organization founded in 1999 with the mission of bringing live and recorded music to the bedsides of people in healthcare facilities. At no fee, the organization provides hospitals with complete CD libraries and players for patient use. Currently, the organization has 105 CD pharmacies: 77 throughout NEW YORK, 16 in NEW JERSEY, 9 in PHILADELPHIA, 1 in BOSTON, 1 in BALTIMORE and 1 in OHIO.
