FCC Doles Out Fines, License Renewals

The FCC issues more fines along with the license renewals themselves, with VALLEY AIR, LLC. hit with a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture of $4,000. along with its renewal for KVLR/TWISP, WA (public file violations), WILLIAM L. BONNER nailed with a $7,000. NAL with his renewal for WKBY-A/CHATHAM, VA (late renewal application), GENEVA BROADCASTING getting an NAL of $10,000. and a renewal at WGVA-A/GENEVA, NY (public file violations), ROSE CITY RADIO CORPORATION getting a $10,000. NAL with the renewal of WSNR-A/JERSEY CITY-NEW YORK (public file violations), LEHIGH CARBON COMMUNITY COLLEGE also hit with a $10,000. NAL with the renewal of WXLV/SCHENCKSVILLE, PA (ditto), BOARD OF TRUSTEES, DAVIS & ELKINS COLLEGE receiving a $7,000. NAL with the renewal of WCDE/ELKINS, WV (late renewal application), COBB COMMUNICATIONS slapped with a $14,000. NAL with the renewals of K261AO/PRUDHOE, AK and K203BY/KUPARUK, AK (late renewal application), and CANANDAIGUA BROADCASTING, INC. getting a $4,000. NAL with the renewal of WCGR/CANANDAIGUA, NY (public file violations).
NEW NORTHWEST BROADCASTERS, LLC also received an NAL for $12,000. for EEO violations at KFAT-KRPM-KDBZ/ANCHORAGE. And CLEAR CHANNEL gets a renewal for WMJY/BILOXI, WKNN/PASCAGOULA, MS, and WBUV/MOSS POINT, MS over the objections of WJZD, INC., which had claimed CLEAR CHANNEL had engaged in unauthorized transfer of control of WQYZ/OCEAN SPRINGS, MS, CLEAR CHANNEL's indecency violations at other stations, and possible market concentration violations, all of which the FCC dismissed.
