CHICAGO CUBS radio voice PAT HUGHES has been named the 2015 ILLINOIS Sportscaster of the Year by the NATIONAL SPORTSCASTERS AND SPORTSWRITERS ASSOCIATION.
The award is the tenth time HUGHES has won Sportscaster of the Year, seven in ILLINOIS and three in WISCONSIN.
"I'd like to dedicate this award to the CUBS' dramatic 2015 season, and to my tremendous broadcasting partner RON COOMER," said HUGHES, who will enter his 21st season as the voice of the CUBS in 2016 and his 34th consecutive season as a major league baseball broadcaster (including one season with the MINNESOTA TWINS on TV and 12 years with the MILWAUKEE BREWERS on radio).
The CUBS are moving to CBS RADIO Sports WSCR-A (670 THE SCORE)/CHICAGO this season after one season on sister News WBBM-A.
