Condolences to family and friends of longtime DETROIT radio newsman and personality BOB SCHUMAN, who died SATURDAY (1/30) at his home at 65; he had just returned from a trip to FLORIDA.
SCHUMAN, most recently News Director at CBS RADIO Classic Hits WOMC/DETROIT, served as News Director for several years at sister Country WYCD and its predecessor, Talk WOWF (99.5 WOW-FM), and also worked at WJR-A and WHYT. In 2007-2010, SCHUMAN hosted the morning news at COX MEDIA GROUP News-Talk WOKV-A-F/JACKSONVILLE; over the course of his career, he worked at stations like WIFE-A and WNDE-A/INDIANAPOLIS, WNOE-A/NEW ORLEANS, WYOO/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, KLIF-A/DALLAS, WSAI-A and WKRQ/CINCINNATI, WDAE-A and WYUU (U92)/TAMPA-ST. PETERSBURG, KFRC-A/SAN FRANCISCO, WROR/BOSTON, and WZGC/ATLANTA.
