Condolences to family and friends of longtime former KABC-A and KLOS/LOS ANGELES Community Affairs Dir. NELKANE BENTON, who died JANUARY 23rd at 82.

BENTON served at the radio stations for several decades, hosting public affairs shows and handling community relations; she worked for many years for BING CROSY ENTERPRISES in record promotion and public relations before joining KABC as head of its Ombudsman Service in 1973.
