Claiming that the proceeding is biased, financial advisor and radio show host DAWN BENNETT is boycotting her own internal agency trial at the SEC on fraud charges, reports BLOOMBERG.
BENNETT, who bought time to air "FINANCIAL MYTH BUSTING WITH DAWN BENNETT" on SALEM News-Talk WWRC-A/WASHINGTON station starting in 2010 and took the show into syndication via RADIO AMERICA, did not show up for WEDNESDAY's trial session, her lawyer GREG MORVILLO told BLOOMBERG, adding, “We asked the SEC, out of fairness, to adjourn the administrative proceeding until the constitutional question is resolved by the courts. They have refused.” The question involves the constitutionality of the SEC using administrative law judges to handle hearings, which critics say results in unfair hearings.
The SEC has alleged that BENNETT exaggerated returns on investments touted on her radio show; BENNETT has denied the allegations.
